“Centerplate will introduce new options, including local food and healthy alternatives, while continuing to provide traditional favourites,” Trade Centre Ltd., which operates the Halifax arena formerly known as the Metro Centre, said in a news release Friday.

It's the creation of executive chef Marc Spooner, 40, who won an episode of Chopped, the popular Food Network show that pits chefs in a timed competition. Since coming to Tropicana Field, he has made it his mission to elevate ballpark cuisine. This latest menu offering might sound excessive but in execution it's pretty great.
The concessions at Providence Park are known for putting an emphasis on local, with breads, meats and cheeses all coming Portland or Oregon at large. And a partnership with local food carts means you can watch the game and have your Nong's, too.
