The City Commissioner and Mayor of Miami Beach have chosen to award Centerplate an official Certificate of Recognition, honoring Centerplate for its role as the leading event hospitality partner to Art Basel Miami Beach, the nation’s most prestigious art exhibition.
As hospitality partner to the internationally renowned art festival, Centerplate served over 75,000 meals to the exhibition’s 50,000 guests, with service ranging from catering VIP events to managing a number of upscale restaurants throughout the five-day event. Hospitality efforts produced record sales in walk-up customer service and catering. But more importantly, according to the commendation from the City of Miami Beach:

To execute world-class hospitality for the art world’s elite, Centerplate bolstered its Miami Beach team with more than 25 culinary and service professionals from around the country to help facilitate all facets of its hospitality service. Centerplate’s national all-star team of chefs worked closely with Art Basel to create menus both in keeping with the event’s creative flair and Miami Beach’s own culinary persona. Additionally during the event, Centerplate provided an economic boon to the Miami and Miami Beach communities, nearly quadrupling its workforce from its typical staffing levels.
More than 260 leading galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa took part in 2012’s Art Basel, showcasing works by more than 2,000 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. The exhibited galleries are among the world’s most respected art dealers, offering exceptional pieces by both renowned artists and cutting-edge newcomers.
