Centerplate is currently seeking a Purchasing Agent for the Corporate Office in Spartanburg, SC.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Source, quote, purchase and track foodservice equipment and smallwares.
• Ensure the continual flow of materials and supplies to support the field.
• Create and maintain vendor database entries for current information.
• Maintain vendor catalogs for up to date information, equipment listing, prices and discounts.
• Maintain foodservice equipment and smallware tracking/receivable log/schedule to ensure timely receipt of equipment and products.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with contractors, facilities department field staff and general managers to insure the timely and accurate delivery of equipment.
• Prepare and maintain Purchasing Order system as needed.
• Review requests for equipment and smallwares to ensure that products are correct for that unit (i.e electrical specifications and uniformity of equipment and smallwares).
• Create and maintain relationships with vendors.
• Develop vendor relationships for quality products; meet with vendors to ensure accuracy in equipment, products, delivery and prices.
• Visit tradeshows for up to date information on equipment and specifications.
• Communicate with the field locations on a regular basis.
• Troubleshoot any problem with delivery, quality, warranties, etc.
• Review and track vendor invoicing for accuracy, discounts and credits.
• Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing - Preferred.
• Ability to read kitchen layouts and schematic designs.
• 1 year experience with company having multiple locations.
• Needs prior experience and working knowledge of the Autoquotes programs 360 and Legacy versions.
• Minimum 3 years experience in the equipment procurement industry.
• Candidate must posses superior communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent presentation, public speaking skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
• Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others.
• Ability to maintain and complete deadlines.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and computerized PO system. 

Preferred:

• 6 months experience in food service industry.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility is needed to attend various meetings and events.  Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
